How renting starts

Your site takes shape as you answer. see your site in minutes

  1. 1Tell us about your place.

  2. 2Add photos.

Make the bed, open the curtains, shoot with your phone. Three photos are enough to start.

  3. 3Set your nightly price.

Check what similar places nearby charge and pick yours. You can change it any time.

  4. 4You are taking bookings.

Share your address on social media and in messages — your first guest could book today.

What about keys and cleaning? They work your way — a key box or a trusted neighbour, cleaning yourself or with a cleaner. See everything included →

The money comes to you — no middleman.

When a guest books, they pay right away — by card, Klarna or MobilePay. The payment settles to your own account and shows up instantly in the booking. Card payments are handled by Stripe.

Stripe Visa Mastercard Klarna MobilePay

You can also take payment without card fees: the guest gets your bank transfer or MobilePay details at booking, and the nights stay reserved until you mark the payment received.

Does this actually work?

villapurnukka.com is our own villa — your site is built on exactly the same foundation. Rated ★ 5.0 by 23 guests.

What does it cost me in total to start?

A one-time setup of €99, or €0 with the code ALOITUS0. After that you pay only the monthly fee, €19/mo on Flexible — and you always see the final sum before paying.

Do I need to be technical?

No. You answer questions, add photos and set a price — the site comes together from that. If anything puzzles you, support helps in English too.

Where does the money go?

Straight to you. Online payments are handled by Stripe and settle to your own Stripe account. You can also take payment by bank transfer or MobilePay with no card fees. The money never passes through Purnukka either way.

Is Purnukka a marketplace?

No. The site is yours, at your own address. You set the prices, the open dates and the terms, and the guest’s contact details land in your register. There is no marketplace cut: on Flex the service fee is 3% of the online payments on your site, on Fixed it is 0%.

Does the guest book, or do I get an enquiry?

The guest picks the dates, sees the price and pays in one sitting: card, Klarna, MobilePay, Apple Pay and Google Pay. The booking is confirmed immediately and the dates close in your calendar; channels are updated over iCal within about an hour. The guest does not wait for a reply to an enquiry.

What is included in the monthly price?

The site, the booking calendar, online payments, the iCal connection to channels, the guest portal, the traveller declaration and your customer register. Only your own domain, an email mailbox and other add-ons are bought separately — they are marked as such in the feature list.

How fast is my site ready?

You see your own site in a few minutes — the preview is built before you pay anything. After you order, the published site is online within a minute, at an address like yourname.purnukka.com. You can connect your own domain later.

Where does my first guest come from?

From your own channels. Put your link in social media, your profile and your messages — the guest books and pays you directly. And once a guest has stayed, next time they book straight from your site.

I already host on Airbnb — why my own site?

Your own site works alongside your channels. A returning guest books straight from you, with no commission in between. Put the link in your profile and messages.

What if a guest breaks something?

Prepare as you would for any renting: consider extending your home insurance to cover renting — ask your insurer. Guests pay in advance, so you always know who is staying and when.

Am I allowed to rent my place?

Yes, when your own rules allow it — your housing company’s rules or your own lease, for example. Checking that is on you, because only you can see your contract.

What about taxes?

Rental income is taxable — check your own situation with your local tax authority.

Can I stop whenever I want?

Yes. There is no fixed term — you can pause or stop your site at any time.

Stripe What Stripe is

Stripe is a card reader that works online.

In a shop the card goes through a reader and the money ends up in the shop’s account. Online that job belongs to Stripe: it charges the customer’s card and moves the money to your bank account. Stripe is a payment company used by millions of businesses. You do not buy it separately, and the account is opened once while you build the page.

Is it a bank?

No. Stripe is a payment processor: it handles the card payment for the short stretch between the customer tapping pay and the money reaching your bank. Your bank stays the bank you already have.

Whose account is it?

Yours. It is opened in your name and against your bank account, and the customer’s payment goes there — not through a Purnukka account. we charge 3% of the online payments on your site, plus the monthly fee.

What does Stripe cost?

Stripe charges no setup fee and no monthly fee — only a fee per payment. In Finland a standard card issued in the EEA costs 1.5% + €0.25; a premium EEA card 2.8% + €0.25, a UK card 2.5% + €0.25 and a card from elsewhere 3.15% + €0.25, plus 2% if the currency has to be converted. That is Stripe’s price, separate from ours.

Do I have to learn a second program?

Not for daily work. Your page, prices and bookings live in Purnukka. You go into Stripe twice in practice: when you open the account, and if you want to check when the money lands in your bank.

When is the money in my bank account?

In Finland the first payout arrives 7 days after your first successful payment. After that the default is 3 business days, and you choose the rhythm: rolling, weekly or monthly. The money never sits with us at any point.

Do I need a business ID?

No. A private individual can open a Stripe account. Before payouts Stripe asks for identity details and a bank account number: this is the “Know Your Customer” obligation required of every payment processor by regulators, not a Stripe policy of its own.

Opening it goes like this

  1. 1
Email and passwordThe account is created while you build the page. It takes a couple of minutes.
  2. 2
Identity and bank accountA photo of your ID card or passport and an account number. This can wait — the page can be published before it.
  3. 3
The first paymentWhen a customer pays you see the amount straight away, and the payout leaves for your bank at the rhythm you chose.
Visa Mastercard Klarna Apple Pay Google Pay MobilePay

We help with opening it. If you do not want online payment at all, you can publish the page and agree the payment with the customer directly.
