Equipment rentals
What sits in your yard
can earn.
A trailer, snowmobile, hot tub, boat, quad bike or a serious power tool. You give it its own rental page where the customer sees the free times, books a slot and pays online. You set the price, the times and who you rent to.
- No monthly fee and no setup fee
- No business ID needed to start
- Money to your own account, 3% only from a paid booking

How it goes
How you get your own rental page running.
Every step is what actually happens in Studio — not an imaginary process diagram.
- 1
Tell us what you rent out and where it is picked up.
You pick a template and write the name and pickup place. Prices, durations and terms arrive ready for review.
- 2
See your page immediately — before you pay anything.
Change the photos, the texts, the daily price and the free times. The page looks exactly as your customer will see it.
- 3
Publish and share the link.
A marketplace, a local Facebook group, WhatsApp or the village noticeboard. The customer books a free slot and pays you online.

Money
The money comes to your own account.
The customer pays into your own Stripe account. Purnukka takes its share only once a booking is paid — not as a monthly fee and not in advance.
- Card, Klarna and MobilePay pay into your own Stripe account, which pays out to your bank account.
- Purnukka's share is 3% of a paid booking. No bookings, no cost.
- You decide in Stripe when the money moves to your bank account.
A private person can open a free Stripe account without a business ID. Verified in production: real renters on the platform run on personal accounts with payments and payouts working.
What does opening a payment account require?
Stripe asks for an identity document and a bank account number before the first payout. We help you set it up. Without a payment account you can still publish the page, take booking requests and agree on payment with the customer.
Terms and safety
What you agreed is written down.
Every template brings the age limit, licence requirement and handover practice for that equipment type. These are the same texts Studio writes onto your page — you can edit them, but you never have to invent them.
Deposit and deductible
You set both amounts. The deposit is held on the payment method before pickup, and you can approve bookings by hand if you want to choose your renters.
Who is liable for damage
The rental is a contract between you and your customer. Purnukka is not a party to it and is not an insurer. You get a ready rental contract, the reports and a damage record — check how your own insurance treats renting out before the first time.
The renter is never anonymous
An online payment tells you the booker’s name and payment method. You check the licence and identity at handover, and the check is recorded in the report.
The templates get you started. You review and edit them for your own equipment.
Growth
It starts with one trailer. It goes as far as you want.
Nobody founds a company on the first evening. So this starts with no business ID, no monthly fee and no commitment — and still scales into a real rental business.
First one machine
You publish what you already own. The first booking tells you whether there is demand — the cheapest market research there is.
Then a second and a third
One page holds several units and several equipment types. The calendar, prices and reports work the same whether you have one unit or ten.
And finally your own name
Your own domain, your own look and a growing customer register. When it becomes a business, the page and the customers are already yours — nothing needs to move.
Rental income is taxable income, and the line between a hobby and a business is worth checking with the tax authority. We handle the page, the bookings and the money — not your taxes.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need a business ID?
Not to start. A private person can build the page, publish it and take payments. The first payout requires identity and bank verification in Stripe. Rental income is taxable and you get an annual summary for your return.
Does Purnukka bring me renters?
No, and we do not promise it. You share the link: a marketplace, a local Facebook group, WhatsApp, Instagram or a noticeboard. Purnukka is the address behind which the booking and the payment happen — which is exactly the part a classified ad is missing.
What if the renter damages my equipment?
Before pickup the deposit is held on the payment method and the condition is recorded in the report with photos. On return you record what changed and what is charged for it. Purnukka is not an insurer: check how your own policy treats renting out before the first time.
Can I rent it out only a few times a summer?
Yes. There is no monthly fee, so a quiet month costs nothing. The 3% is charged only from a paid booking.
Can I choose who I rent to?
Yes. You can take bookings as requests and approve each one yourself. You see the booker’s name and message before the slot is taken.
Can I rent out several machines on the same page?
Yes. One page holds several units and equipment types, each with its own price, calendar and terms.
How quickly is the page ready?
An evening’s work. You see the finished page before you order, and it publishes as soon as it looks like yours.
Can I stop whenever I want?
Yes. There is no fixed term. You can pause or stop the page at any time.
Is it a bank?
No. Stripe is a payment processor: it handles the card payment for the short stretch between the customer tapping pay and the money reaching your bank. Your bank stays the bank you already have.
Whose account is it?
Yours. It is opened in your name and against your bank account, and the customer’s payment goes there — not through a Purnukka account. the only thing we charge is 3% of a paid booking.
What does Stripe cost?
Stripe charges no setup fee and no monthly fee — only a fee per payment. In Finland a standard card issued in the EEA costs 1.5% + €0.25; a premium EEA card 2.8% + €0.25, a UK card 2.5% + €0.25 and a card from elsewhere 3.15% + €0.25, plus 2% if the currency has to be converted. That is Stripe’s price, separate from ours.
Do I have to learn a second program?
Not for daily work. Your page, prices and bookings live in Purnukka. You go into Stripe twice in practice: when you open the account, and if you want to check when the money lands in your bank.
When is the money in my bank account?
In Finland the first payout arrives 7 days after your first successful payment. After that the default is 3 business days, and you choose the rhythm: rolling, weekly or monthly. The money never sits with us at any point.
Opening it goes like this
Email and password: The account is created while you build the page. It takes a couple of minutes. Identity and bank account: A photo of your ID card or passport and an account number. This can wait — the page can be published before it. The first payment: When a customer pays you see the amount straight away, and the payout leaves for your bank at the rhythm you chose.
What Stripe is
Stripe is a card reader that works online.
In a shop the card goes through a reader and the money ends up in the shop’s account. Online that job belongs to Stripe: it charges the customer’s card and moves the money to your bank account. Stripe is a payment company used by millions of businesses. You do not buy it separately, and the account is opened once while you build the page.
- The customer pays by card, Klarna or a mobile wallet on your own page.
- The payment goes to your own Stripe account, opened in your name.
- Our service fee is 3% of a paid booking.
- Stripe charges its own per-payment fee on top of that.
- Stripe pays the money out to your bank account at the rhythm you choose.
